FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE MY PROBLEMS "BIG" ENOUGH FOR THERAPY?
You are worthy of being taken care of. Period. While it's human to compare your struggles to other people’s struggles, that can minimize and invalidate your own in the process. Whether you deem them big or small, your challenges and feelings are important and deserve space. Some people come to therapy in a crisis, and other people come to therapy because they feel things are going really well and they just want to stay on track, or perhaps “do the deeper work.” We believe everyone can benefit from therapy, and we are honored to hold that space for our clients.
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Jennifer and her Associates do not accept insurance. However, we can provide you with superbills to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please contact your insurance provider to determine your reimbursement rates for “out-of-network” psychotherapy prior to your enrollment in therapy.
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
Jennifer's rate is $250 per individual therapy session and $275 per relationship/couples/partners/family therapy session. Sessions are typically 50 minutes, although for couples and families, 75-minute sessions are recommended. If cost is prohibitive, Jennifer's Associate therapists offer lower rates, as well as a sliding scale, to help accommodate those in need. Please check their websites and contact them for their sliding scale options.
HOW LONG WILL I BE IN THERAPY?
Treatment can vary from a few months to many years depending on the client’s wants and needs. Although the completion of treatment is usually decided between us together upon completion of your goals, your treatment is voluntary and you have the option of ending therapy at any time.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY
We require a 24-hour notice of cancellation in order to avoid a full payment fee for a missed session. If this is concerning due to the nature of your circumstances, please feel free to discuss this prior to entering treatment.
